About Me

I'm Avery Copeland, a proud member of Furman University's Class of 2025, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in writing. Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, I was surrounded by the city's vibrant creative scene, which ignited my love for storytelling and honed my skills in editing, research, and crafting compelling messaging strategies.

I gained hands-on experience as an intern with Gardner-Webb University's Office of Communications. In this role, I wrote and published a variety of pieces, both in print and electronically, including journalistic articles, program and department highlights, profile features, memorial tributes, and press releases. Each project deepened my understanding of audience engagement and the power of thoughtful, impactful communication.

Working with the Gardner-Webb team helped me uncover a new passion: blending creativity with strategy to craft writing that informs, connects, and inspires new audiences. As I move forward in my career post-graduation, I am excited to bring these skills into the fields of public relations, marketing, or copywriting, where I can develop effective and compelling writing and messaging that drives results and fosters meaningful, long-lasting connections with diverse audiences.
